Serena Williams Fined $82.5K
That outlash is now going to dig in the pockets on Serena. Today, she was fined $82,500 and she is on a probation period at the four major Grand Slam tournaments for the next two years. If she goes on another one of her tirades at one of those championship events in 2010 or 2011, the fine will increase to $175,000 and she will be banned from the U.S. Open. If she doesn’t act up in the next two years, then her suspension will be lifted.
It’s a good thing that the Grand Slam administrator Bill Babcock put his foot down on Serena. She was starting to go overboard on her reactions to calls that she thought she should have gotten. Then again male tennis players have been going ham on officials for years. Hopefully Serena will keep her outbursts under control. |

BWAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH… too funny! Thanks google.

Serena Williams is one of the most competitive tennis players in today’s game. That’s very clear with the passion that she plays with when she’s out there on the court. She gives it her all. Well that passion is what gets her in trouble at times as well. At the recent U.S. Open in September, Serena went on a highly publicized tirade against the line official for a foot-fault call at the end of her semifinal loss to Kim Clijsters, the eventual champion.
Michael Jackson’s swan song This is It has made over $100 million worldwide in theatres and stands to double that when the DVD arrives in stores in early 2010. The release features Over 90 minutes of never-before-seen bonus features including two making-of documentaries, costume featurette and Blu-ray exclusives including all-new ‘Smooth Criminal’ and ‘Thriller’ vignettes as well as movieIQ feature.
