Giant Magazine Folds
“The economic downturn has had a tremendous impact on print media and we had to make the decision to suspend printing the publication,” said Tom Newman, president of Interactive One in a statement. “Additionally we recognize the increase in demand for real time information and see this as an opportunity to leverage our existing robust online platform to better serve Giant consumers and advertisers through our interactive medium.”
Radio One purchased Giant last year for approximately $270,000 so their financial loss could not have been much. There was no mention of how many staff members if any would lose their jobs as a result of the magazine closing. |

Shaq’s lawyers are fighting hard for their client not to get taken for half his assets in his impending divorce settlement. The lawyers filed documents claiming that Shaunie has no rights to use California divorce courts because they are residents of Florida.
After nearly a year of rumors of its impending doom, Radio One has closed the doors on Giant Magazine. Radio One’s digital wing Interactive One will continue to publish online via Giantlife.com.
